The largest population of European brown bear is in Romania and bear hunting in Romania leave unforgettable memories in every hunter who had visited the hunting habitation of this species and who had hunted for most clever and biggest predatory in the world. Romania is country with high hunting culture and exceptional diversity of game – European brown bear, red deer, mouflon, chamois, wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer, wolf, lynx, etc. The hunt is leaded by experienced hunting organizers. One of the most attractive hunts in the world is for Carpathian brown bear. The population is 8000 bears and every year the Romanian organizers get licenses to shoot 5% of this population, i.e. 400 bears. There are 3 way for bear hunting:

Hunting bears from highseat on bait – guarantee success for 3 full hunting days. The professional guides make observations 1 month before the hunt and during the hunt they accompany consult the hunter about the bear trophy quality (CIC points). You can shoot in Romania bear from 350 CIC points to 600 CIC points. It is needed 4-5 days to hunt for bigger bear, but for bears 450 – 550 CIC points 3 hunting days are enough.

Driven bear hunt – the most attractive hunt not only in Romania, but in the whole world. Romania is the only one country which organizes that kind of hunt with the participation of 50 to 100 beaters. It is not chance when during the battue 5 to 10 bears appears, as it is happens 13-17 bear to be seen. The bear is strong and mighty game and during the battues runs with up to 60 km/h. The hunters are situated at 2 meters highseats, rarely on the ground and although that there are no accidents every hunter have local Romanian professional guide who guard and consult the hunter. The hunt is organized in the Carpathians in 800-1000 up to 1500 meters above sea-level. The climbing to the ambush is very attractive and you can see impressive views. For hunters that are in very good condition there are cart with one or two horses. There are cases when 1 hunter shoot 2 bears and we have in our practice 2 cases like this.

In October 2009 4 hunters shot for 3 days 16 bears! It was e record!

Stalking bear hunt – This hunt is for good, comparatively young hunters who are able to walk together with the professional guide and to seek and shoot a bear. Sometimes you can use also one or max two dogs to fins the bear. The guarantee is 90-95% for 3 hunting days. Every hunter can go to highseat in the evening after day hunt.
